About Keephatch Meadows

Keephatch Meadows is a SANG (suitable alternative natural greenspace) on the edge of Wokingham and Binfield. Previously farmland, it is now maintained as a wildflower hay meadow, cut once a year at the end of the summer. It features 3 habitat ponds, and newly planted woodland, all viewable from the natural hoggin footpath which meanders through the meadow in a circular walk.

The wildflower meadows provide excellent habitat, hunting grounds and nectar sources for local insects, small mammals and birds.

Parking facilities

There is a free-to-use car park (with 6’6” height restriction) off Binfield Road, RG40 5PR.

Accessibility

There is a rough hard-surfaced path throughout the site, with some gentle inclines. It is therefore wheelchair accessible, but users may find it hard-going without assistance.
