Water Quality in Black Swan Lake

Water Quality in Black Swan Lake Dinton Pastures

Water Quality.png

During the summer months we sample our water to ensure that we are aware of the microbiology of the lake. By doing this we are going above and beyond regulations standards for watersports activities. We like our water to fit within British Triathlon open water swimming regulations as these are the highest standard for inland waterbodies.

Our Current results from samples taken on 19/10/21 shows passes for 3 out of 4 of the tests conducted.

The total Coliforms found in the sample are high however as this covers any form on biological matter in the water this is not a concerning result in itself at all and is very common for any large outdoor bodies of water.

The e-coli levels are within tolerance limits but have decrease slightly from the previous months results.

The Enterococci levels have increased and as such we would remind all lake users of the importance of washing you hands and face before eating after being in, on or around the lake.

The PH levels are well within the recommended limits.

Our Blue Green Algae levels are falling and have remained at relatively low levels during 2021.
