Update on our Summer Holiday Program for 2020
We are working hard to review our Summer Holiday Activity Program to ensure it is safe for both the children and our staff. Our offer is likely to be a stripped back and reduced program to keep things in line with government guidance – smaller groups of five with one instructor, no activities on shared occupancy boats where social distancing can’t be maintained, restricted access into the building, toilets only. Showers will be for emergency purposes only so it’s likely we will ask your to send your children ‘beach ready’ for activities and to collect them for the lunch break period. Some activities might also have a higher minimum age limit to ensure the children can enjoy their activities with the reduced close contact support from instructors.
Our offer has been submitted to Wokingham Borough Council COVID Gold committee for approval, and we are awaiting guidance. For now, we have turned our summer holiday bookings off. This does not mean that we have or will be cancelling them, simply that it prevents further upheaval if we need to significantly amend the program.
We thank you for your continued support and patience,
Dinton Activity Centre Team
These activities are a great opportunity to keep fit, make new friends and develop water confidence.
- No prior experience or qualifications needed for most activities
- Helmets, buoyancy aids and wetsuits provided
- Car parking permits included for pick up and drop off
- Every participant must complete an online consent form submitted on, or prior to the first day of the course or activity
Some of our activities have a set programme so you know what to expect. On other activities, we encourage the participants to set their own programme based on their interests. We can't always guarantee that the programme won't change, sometimes at very short notice, due to matters outside of our control.
Who are our activities suitable for?
Teen and junior courses are suitable for people aged 6-17. To be able to include everyone we will make reasonable changes and adaptations to the programme of events where possible. It is essential that participants are able to take care of their own personal and social needs, for example getting changed. Participants can arrange to bring their own carer to assist with personal care, including behavioural and medical support, or Dinton staff can be provided at an additional cost to act as activity support where appropriate. This is at the discretion of the Centre Manager.
Can my child sign themselves in/out?
We only accept self-registration forms for children aged 13 and over. The adult must complete the self-registration form and return it to the activity prior to the start of the activity or course they are booked on to. Download the self-registration form and email it to email@example.com A new self-sign in/out form must be completed at the start of each week the child is at the activity centre.
Important information regarding participant medications
We kindly ask that any medication left in our care is clearly listed on the consent form, along with information on what it is for and when to be administered.
Please also state clearly if medicines left at the centre must accompany the participant at all times (on land and water), or can be left at a central location within the centre. If the medication must stay with the participant at all times (on land and water), you must provide a dry pack for the medication.
Read our What to Bring Guide and FAQs for further information.
We know that keeping your children and teenagers active and entertained can get expensive. We offer a range of discounts to make booking with us more affordable.

- Save 10 percent when you book a whole week of Welly Days or Wild Days.
